I took the photograph that inspired this piece while walking through the Cambodian fishing village of Kampong Khleang in 2019. This was during the dry season when the stilts holding up the homes were visible, and a variety of items were stored underneath. This solo bicycle grabbed my attention. It’s a seasonal mode of transportation, to be replaced by boats when the lake rises. I wonder where it goes then?
